FCS Floder location Example

Solution by Sales

QUESTION
------------------------------------------------------
Hi,

We were informed by the sales team to upload FCS files to our FCS folder.
eg movies/miclubfcs/yourfilename

What is our fcs folder. I have searched through directories using the plesk file manager and can not find any directories called movies or miclubfcs.

Please advise how to upload to our fcs folder so we can use our fcs player.

We currently have and fcs player installed in httpdocs/fcsplayer1/ but are not sure where to upload the movies to. I have tried putting the movies in the fcsplayer1 directory but nothing plays.

Thanks,
Peter

ANSWER

Hello Peter, the location for your FCS files can be found in your welcome pack.
You have the HTTP section and progressive streaming in your control panel and ftp area (subdomain miclub.flvhost.com)
that you use to connect to your FCS files from, using a SWF player (fcsplayer1)

Then you have your connection/ftp location to the FCS (Flash Comm Server)

Here is the excerpt from your welcome pack regarding location to upload to the FCS server :

The following FCS folder has been created:
Folder name is - miclubfcs

This is a different folder location than your progressive streaming, and is designed to hold only the FLV files you wish to stream with Flash Comm Server

FTP ADDRESS flvhost.com
username; miclubfcs
PW;

Only your FLV files for Flash Comm Streaming go into this directory.
When you log in via FTP you may see just one file, ----- smallfiletest.flv --- This is normal

Please, DO NOT UPLOAD ANY OTHER FILE TYPES HERE -- Upload only your Flash Comm FLV files to this location.

Then, use your FCS Flash Player or FLV Hosting players to refer to the FLV files in this folder. The settings will play your files as shown:

Please read your welcome pack again, it should become more clear now
